Road Upgrade Contract Awarded

𝗚𝗗𝗥 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗨𝗽𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁

 
As part of the Shire of Northam's commitment to our local roads program we are delighted to have awarded a $1.7 million Roads Package for 2023/24 to local business GDR Civil Contracting.
 
Investing in and improving our roads remains a key priority within the Shire and these upgrades will provide greater accessibility, increased safety, economic and social outcomes for our residents. This contract will allow for the upgrade and renewal to the following roads:
 

SCOPE OF WORK

  1. LINLEY VALLEY ROAD, WUNDOWIE SLK0.00 TO 0.81
    1. Pavement rehabilitation/reconstruction, Primer Seal, and Asphalt
  2. MOKINE ROAD, MOKINE SLK0.0 TO 1.92
    1. Shoulder clearing and repair/regrade with top up gravel
    2. Full width re-reseal over existing seal
    3. Drainage shaping
  3. FORREST STREET, NORTHAM SLK 0.21 TO 1.03
    1. Profile, Pavement rehabilitation/reconstruction, Primer Seal, Asphalt and Line marking.
    2. Kerbing, footpath and other
  4. FITZGERALD STREET SLK 2.0 TO 2.74
    1. Pavement rehabilitation/reconstruction.
    2. Kerbing
    3. Primer Seal and Asphalt overlay
  5. HENRY STREET SLK 0.02 TO 0.20
    1. Lift drainage gully grate
    2. Tack coat and asphalt overly
    3. Reinstate line marking
  6. BEAVIS PLACE SLK 0.0 – 0.09
    1. Rehabilitation/Reconstruction
    2. Adjust/raise gully grate
    3. Remove and replace kerb including pram ramp, and new footpath
    4. Tack coat, Asphalt overlay, and line marking
 
Works will commence end of January 2024, with anticipated completion by end of this financial year.
