Expanding Community Infrastructure 

As a key regional centre, the State Government of Western Australia has invested significantly in the community of Northam and its surrounds. These investments have enhanced this already vibrant community, and have attracted new businesses and job opportunities to the region.

The Shire of Northam is proactive in seeking funding opportunities to improve the infrastructure that is available to the community. Recent community development projects include:

  2. Northam Youth Precinct development

Diversifying Our Local Economy

The Shire of Northam is conscious of its pivotal role in creating an expanded, more diverse economy, which offers a broader selection of job opportunities to allow Northam to evolve into a diverse and sustainable regional centre. This requires the Shire of Northam to work closely with industry to find ways of developing a more robust, flexible and adaptable local economy.  

The Shire of Northam is experiencing unprecedented growth, with a large number of exciting new development projects currently being facilitated. This includes:

  3. Northam Hospital redevelopment
  4. Commercial Hotel redevelopment
  5. Northam Eco Lifestyle Village
