Recreation Facilities Review Workshop (Bakers Hill)

Tuesday 25th February 2025

The Shire of Northam has engaged Shane Spinks Consulting (SSC) to review the current Recreation Facilities Development Plan to ensure that future facility provision within the Shire remains contemporary and meets the ongoing needs of the community.
Community, sport and recreation facilities have a fundamental role in maintaining the health and well-being of the community and in developing and maintaining social cohesiveness, connectivity, and capacity. As a result, it is important that the facilities provided by the Shire meet the current and future needs of the community.
To enable the revised Recreation Facilities Development Plan to accurately reflect the needs of the community, we invite you to attend one of the planned community workshops.
The purpose of the workshops will be to:

• To discover community aspirations for sport and recreation facilities and leisure opportunities throughout the Shire
• To identify the positive aspects and limitations of the current facilities provided within the Shire
• Understand what facility and program delivery opportunities can be made available with improved infrastructure provision.
• Identify facility and service specific requirements.
• Prioritisation of future requirements.
These workshops are open to sporting clubs, community groups and the general community. While you are encouraged to attend the workshop in your area, each workshop is open to all community members. These workshops form one part of a broader community engagement process, which will include youth workshops, the community survey and the sporting club and community group user survey.
