Social Media Defence Training For Women

Past Event

Did you know 3 in every 10 women experience some form of abuse on social media?
These women then start avoiding using social media, and miss out on connections, having their views heard and strengthening reputations.
Northam Library is hosting a session run by the eSafety commissioner. This session covers:
* How to recognise online abuse and the impact it has on women’s working lives.
** How to set up your social media accounts and profiles with safety in mind.
*** How to deal with online abuse through reporting and protecting your wellbeing. This includes information on the practical role eSafety has in safeguarding Australians from online harm.
There are 2 ways to attend - you can come in person to the Northam Library, and watch it in company, or you can email us at [email protected] and we will send you a link, so you can watch it in your home, or at work. You will need to create an account with Microsoft Teams, to watch it away from the library.
Registration is optional, however we would like to offer a drink and a snack to all who come, so would like an idea of numbers for catering.
