Complaints Report - July to September 2024

The Shire of Northam is committed to providing the community with regular updates on the number of complaints received and the timeframe for dealing with them.

For the period from July 2024 to September 2024, the Shire of Northam received 5 complaints with an average timeframe of 11 business days to deal with these complaints. The complaints were matters relating to:

  • Resolution of an ongoing matter for an infringement issued by the Shire.
  • Consultation undertaken with respect to the artwork displayed on the Northam Recreation Centre entrance sign.
  • Consultation with residences in proximity to an event held by a licenced premise in the Northam CBD during the Bilya Festival and the associated approval conditions for the licensed premise.
  • Services provided in the West ward of the Shire, specifically verge and oval maintenance.
  • Action taken in relation a tree on private property.

Complaints which are received by the Shire will receive an acknowledgement within 2 business days. Where justified, a thorough investigation will be undertaken to understand the facts. The Shire of Northam will endeavour to provide an outcome to the complainant within 10 business days however when this is not possible, we will advise the complainant of the delay.
