Located in the heart of the picturesque Avon Valley, Northam is home to a diverse range of tourist and heritage attractions, including hot air ballooning, cultural experiences, wildflowers, tours & trails, historic buildings, horse racing, white swans, and much, much more.
The Shire of Northam is in a RESTRICTED BURNING PERIOD as of 8th October 2024. Burning may only be undertaken with a valid permit, and/or under strict conditions.

Please be advised the restricted burning period for the Shire of Northam is now in effect from 15th March 2024. Permits are available to primary producers only and are strictly for pre-season stubble burn.
Pursuant to the powers contained in Section 24G (2) of the Bush Fires Act 1954, the Shire of Northam prohibits the burning of all 1m3 piles of garden refuse/rubbish on the ground or in an incinerator that would otherwise be permitted under Section 24F within its district during the Autumn Restricted Burning Period (15th March - 30th April.)
