Bin Audits

Please be advised that the Shire of Northam will be conducting selected residential and commercial bin audits of general waste and recycling bins from 1 February 2024 until 29 March 2024 inclusive. These audits are part of our ongoing commitment to improve waste management and recycling processes.
 
Information collected through the audit process includes:
 
• Details of the types of items placed in waste and recycling bins, and the volume of those items
• Number of items collected that are eligible to be collected under the Containers for Change program
• Levels of recyclable items in the general waste bins
• Contamination and recovery rates in recycling
 
Residents are encouraged to ensure that printed documents (such as bank statements, bills etc.) are shredded before placing in their recycling bin at any time of the year – not only during the audit.
 
Please note that bin collection times may vary during this period. Your support for this project is appreciated and will greatly assist with our waste management efforts.
