Spring Restricted Burning Period is Coming

Starting in October, the Shire of Northam will implement the Restricted Burning Period. Please note that these dates may be extended due to unseasonal weather conditions. Any changes will be communicated via our website, social media, and SMS notifications.
 
📝 Important Guidelines for when the Restriction comes into effect:
  • Permits to Burn are Required: If you plan to burn on your property, you must obtain a permit. When permits can be obtains, information will be released.
  • Burning Allowances: During the Spring Restricted Period, properties over 2000m² and outside the gazetted townsite may burn a single pile (up to 1m³) of garden refuse (dry leaves, small branches, offcuts, etc.) between 6 PM and 11 PM.
  • No Campfires: Please refrain from having campfires during this time.
  • Fire Danger Ratings: No burning is permitted when the Fire Danger Rating is “HIGH” or above.
