PLANNING PROPOSAL
Local Planning Scheme No.6
Planning & Development Act 2005
The Shire of Northam has received an application to use and develop the land and buildings for the following purpose and public comments are invited.
Lot Nos.: 146 & 147 (no. 426) Street: Fitzgerald Street Suburb: Northam
Proposal: The applicants proposes to use the premises, formerly known as The Grand Hotel, for the following purposes:
Tavern: “tavern” is defined in Council’s Local Planning Scheme No.6 (LPS6) as a “premises licensed as a tavern under the Liquor Control Act, 1988 and used to sell liquor for consumption on the premises”;
Restaurant: “restaurant” is defined in LPS6 as a “premises where the predominant use is the sale and consumption of food and drinks on the premises and where seating is provided for patrons, and includes a restaurant licensed under the Liquor Control Act, 1988”;
Reception Centre: “reception centre” is defined in LPS6 as a “premises used for functions on formal or ceremonial occasions but not for un-hosted use for general entertainment purposes”; and
Caretaker’s Dwelling: “caretaker’s dwelling” is defined in LPS6 as a “dwelling on the same site as a building, operation, or plant, and occupied by a supervisor of that building, operation or plant”.
