Reduction of Permit Conditions

Applications are now being accepted for Permits to Burn from the wider community; including non-agricultural properties and for burns other than stubble burn-offs.
It is important to note that all permits are processed by local volunteers, and as such, may take up to 5 days to process. Planning ahead is essential when applying for permits to ensure that an approval is in place by the time you intend to conduct your burn.
Our Emergency Services team are very busy ensuring that ongoing operations are maintained, and so are unable to speed up the approval process on a case-by-case basis. Of course, if you haven't received a determination on your permit application after 5 days, please get in touch via any of our listed contact means and we will assist in any way that we can.
Permit applications are to be submitted via the Shire of Northam website (link below), and existing permit holders needing revised conditions will need to follow this process to apply for a new permit.
